Hunted the new BMW M2 2023, first spy photos of the new compact sports car

The new generation of the BMW M2 has just started its testing program. These are the first spy photos of the BMW M2 2023, the successor to a compact sports car that has a very high bar to beat. Completely camouflaged, the four spherical exhausts are one of the details that gave it away.

These are the first spy photos of the new BMW M2 Coupe. The Munich brand barely accumulates six months in the development of the new generation of the compact coupe, already launching the first prototypes of the most radical and sporty version, a clear indication that BMW has stepped on the accelerator in the development of the entire range.

These first images show one of the prototypes of which is the first sports model of the BMW M offer, with the same level of camouflage as conventional versions. Seen from the front, there is not a single detail left to see that it is the new BMW M2 2023, with the net meshes covering the lower section of the bumper. Something normal as it is not an earlier stage of development in this particular model, nor is the rearview mirrors provisional.

But multi-spoke thin alloy wheels that are typical of BMW M are already a very differentiating and special element, as well as the large brake discs that are visible on the front and rear axles, all perforated.

It is the rear view that definitely betrays the prototype of the future BMW M2 with the four spherical exhausts, grouped into two pairs, showing the large silencer below the bumper. In addition, from the rearview, you can also see the widest width of the front and rear tracks, with the classic “fatter” fins to cover up larger tires and alloy wheels.

Under the body of the future G87, there is a shortened version of the HPLC propulsion platform for the older brothers, so both the Series 2 Coupe and the future of this sport will feature the driving and tuning dynamics of the chassis of the new M3 and M4. And, of course, also the same six-cylinder 3.0-liter Twin Power Turbo engine, which will offer a maximum power of 450 hp. The German firm will also offer the versions “Competition” and “CS” before 2025.
