Nissan presents the Townstar. How is it different from the Renault Kangoo 2021?

Nissan has presented on a global scale, on the occasion of the Automobile 2021, its Townstar model, a lightweight, small-sized van with professional and passenger versions. Thanks to this release, the manufacturer will be able to replace the NV200, which had a 2011 design, although it had received several technological updates since then. The same CMF-CD platform and engine range will be used for the construction of the Nissan Townstar as in the 2021 Renault Kangoo, which is why we are briefly comparing them.

The Town star 2021 measures 4.50 meters in length, making it only 1 cm longer than the Kangoo. The wheelbase, 2.72 meters, is the same. The front is distinguished by a distinctive grille, bumper, and LED headlights, but the design of the side and rear area is almost identical to that of the French model. Both one product and the other have the same volume of the luggage compartment with two rows of seats available: 775 liters which, although it seems like a lot, is a normal figure for this class of vehicle. They are practically the same car with different logos. The Nissan is still priceless.

The Japanese manufacturer has announced, for now, two versions: one gasoline and one electric. The former has a turbocharged engine with 1.3 liters displacement and 130 hp, while the second has an electric motor with 102 hp that is powered by a 44 kWh gross capacity battery (about 41 kWh useful). Its range is 285 km according to the WLTP cycle. In addition to these two mechanical configurations, the Kangoo, whose electric version will arrive later this year, adds a diesel engine with 75, 95 or 115 hp.
